This is a photographic tour from the north of the Peak District and running south through some of the more distinctive water related features. We will adapt the schedule based on weather, amount of water that’s around and what people want to point their lenses at. The plan is start from Wyming Brook and the Redmire Reservoir, West of Sheffield. Potential stops along the way include, the following:
- Ladybower & Derwent Reservoirs
- Fairbrook , off the Snake Pass
- Padley Gorge, Grindleford
- Winnats Pass & Cavedale ( Well they were full of water once )
- Waterfall Swallet, Foolow
- Water-Cum-Jolly, Millersdale
- Millers Dale Waterfalls
- Conksbury Bridge & Lower Lathkill Cascades
- Lumsdale Valley
- Belper Water Gardens & Mill Weirs
We may not get to all of them. There are plenty of Watering Holes along the way. Ideally we will need to meet fairly early to make the most of the day. The plan is to leave the Melbourne area at around 08:00 – 08:15. Car sharing will be best where possible as car parking is either limited or expensive at many of these places. There is no reason to rush for the sunrise or sunset, as they are either very late or very early, and many of the opportunities are in valleys or under trees. Bring your tripod and filters with you.
If you are interested in going, then please let Paul Cooper know by Thursday 28th at 20:00 by email Paulatockbrook@gmail.com and if you are planning on taking a car. This will enable me to plan the logistics and starting point / pickups.
