Simon Pearce : Interactive workshop using exciting techniques to paint with light. Bring along a camera and tripod and have a go.
03-Apr-14 Competition – Int Annual
Ian Pinn BPE3 star : The prestigious annual open competition for members with the awarding of trophies on the night for all awards. Over the past 40 years Ian's main photographic interests have been from Nature to Landscape and Still Life.

An opportunity to walk the centre of Derby and take some pictures. Meet at 6:30pm by the Cathedral main doors.

The end of season fund quiz against our old, some not so old, friends at Ashby Photographic Society.

Paul Allen : A visit to the first National Park in the UK with Professional Photographer Paul Allen. The workshop will concentrate on composition and seeing the image.

John Anfield LRPS : John’s ‘Buildings and Architecture’ presentation focuses on how the enthusiastic club photographer can improve their shooting, processing and printing of images for competitions on this theme. Ten ways to improve your images are covered. John has a broad range of photographic interests and has been interested in photography since a young boy.John is a members oftheRoyal Photographic Society and currently working towards my LRPS.
26-Sep-13  Colours of the Rainbow
John Gould FRPS : John’s will be showing some of his prints, which are monochrome, but with a difference. As by using a variety of toning and printing techniques they are anything but “black & white”. It will include portrait, landscape/travel and figure studies. John has a particular interest in portrait, landscape, travel and figure studies. John says he's a traditional monochrome worker, developing and printing all my own work. He has been interested inphotography from 14 years old gaining a FRPS in 1992 in Portraiture.

Members : An opportunity to explore the power of photoshop, with hands on practical advice to Raw, Sizing images, using adjustment layers and cleaning up your images.

Tony is a self taught photographer starting in early childhood having been influenced by his grandfather. Paul Money : The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis is a fascinating sight to behold so discover what causes it and how Astronomer Paul Money has photographed it from both the ground and the air. Paul is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a fellow of the British Interplanetary Society.He is also a writer, broadcaster and publisher and writes and publishes the annual 'NightScenes' guide.

Jonathan Stead MA : This talk will show that analogue photography is not simply limited to film cameras and darkroom printing. I will discuss, explore and display various techniques and examples of 170 years of photographic exploration and development. . Jonathan has been a photographer for the past 10 years after completing an MA in photography. His current photographic practice is anchored by the glass plate methods of the 19th Century, which create a sense of wonder lost in the modern world. www.jonathanstead.com.

Anne Sutcliffe FRPS, EFIAP, PPSA : A romp through recent print images of varied subjects reflecting on how my photography has or has not improved over the years and why. I share my techniques and image locations. I am a Fotospeed sponsored lecturer and would be grateful for note of this in your programme. Anne says she'll have a go at anything but I prefer to find her pictures where others might pass by without a second look. Anne started photography in 1986 and is FRPS, EFIAP, PPSA. Anne Miles FRPS, MPAGB : Rain, snow and mist – first, this lecture shows images depicting my 'perfect' photographic weathers. But what do you do when the weather isn't perfect for photography – some suggestions are made of subjects and techniques to employ when the light is dull or when the sun shines too brightly. Ann has a very wide photographic interest with only still life and studio portrait have not yet been investigated. Russ Daniells CPAGB : Something to get the photographic brain ticking and also to test your skill outside, perhaps, of your normal comfort zone. Our annual themed competition. I have a general interest in all types of photography, although I do little natural history. I particularly enjoy taking the image in front of me rather than constructing images on the computer. Russ has a City and Guilds in photography.
