The first of our exhibitions of the season. Including an exhibition of the prints from our project with Melbourne Junior School.
11th August Members’ Event
All day trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park
18th & 19th August Melbourne Hall exhibition
A real opportunity for members to show their work to a large number of visitors to Melbourne Hall during their summer opening.
1st September Members’ Event
All day visit to Spurn Point.

6th September Open Evening
An open evening for prospective new members to meet the committee and members.
13th September A Woodland Walk with Gerald Hall
A talk about Gerald’s local woodland, which covers 422 acres of land. Information includes birds, butterflies, fungi, flowers, mammals and different areas in the wood.
15th &16th September Melbourne Arts Festival exhibition
Our main and annual exhibition of the year. Members have the opportunity to show images to a large number of visitors.
20th September Lightroom Part 2 with Paul Mellor
Lightroom is a powerful photography workflow tool. Paul will demonstrate some of the strengths of the software, paying particular attention to the various output options available. He’ll also share a few of his favourite tips and tricks.
27th September Life Beyond the Judges & A trip to Italy
David Keith Jones – Life beyond the Judges (how David has sold thousands of images worldwide). A trip to Italy (beautiful mountains and cities of Umbria and the Marches)
4th October Basic Camera skills with Bob Rowe
An introduction to basic camera and photographic skills. Bring your camera and instruction book with you.
11th October Critique Night with Robert Falconer
Members have the opportunity to have their images reviewed by a judge but without the pressure of a competition.
18th October Internal Competition (Themed) judged by Steve Roper
25th October An Evening with Colin New
An evening of colour & monochrome prints by Fotospeed sponsored speaker and member of the London Salon of Photography.
1st November Successful travel photography by Chris Upton
A lecture featuring inspirational travel images from around the world with many hints and tips to help you improve your own travel photography.
8th November Members’ selection evening
Members’ night only. Members will be selecting images for entry into the next external competition.
15th November External competition
Competition against the Nottingham Outlaws (Home), judged by Les Nixon. Always a close battle. We’ll be looking to avenge last years defeat as we’re on home soil this time.
22nd November The Digital Darkroom: with Simon Hickie
The presentation will cover a range of digital darkroom issues ranging from file management, raw conversions, using free and purchased image editors and plug-in effects tools. Common image ‘fixes’ will also be demonstrated, using a variety of images taken by Simon.
29th November A printer’s journey with David Severn
Prints (mainly digital) covering most subjects including landscape, portrait both studio and environmental, wildlife and sport.
6th December Internal Competition
Landscape & natural history, judged by Peter Yeo. An internal competition with the added incentive of being awarded the prestigious Tom Tivey Memorial Trophy.
13th December The indecisions bugging me with Rob Palmer
A monochrome print talk featuring a variety of subject matter and techniques. Images from locations as diverse as his garden, Mablethorpe, Burgundy and Sardinia and subject matter ranging from hand tools to a wine cellar.
20th December Christmas Quiz & Social
With quizmasters Peter Clough and Roy Broadfield. Our Christmas social and quiz night, with the opportunity to bring friends, partners etc along.
27th December No Meeting
3rd January A Tour around Eastern Australia with Alastair Moore
A photographic exploration of eastern Australia including New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, made during 2011. Featuring images taken in and around Sydney, Port Douglas and Melbourne.
8th January Committee Meeting
10th January Basic Photo Editing with Bob Rowe
A look at basic image correction and raw conversion using Photoshop.
17th January Members’ selection evening
Members’ night only. Members will be selecting images for entry into the next external competition.
23rd January External Competition – Ashby Photographic Society
Away competition. The rivalry is always tense but friendly when we have a competition with our nearest neighbours.

A look at the wildlife, landscape, and events around us in England and Wales, includes many award-winning images.
31st January Moments in Nature with Ben Hall
Ben will be showing a selection of his favourite wildlife images from both the UK and Patagonia. He will tell the stories behind the pictures and also touch on some of the techniques used.
7th February Internal Competition, judged by Gary Langley
Panel of 4. Tell your photo story with a panel of 4 images on any subject you like.
14th February Coasting South with Peter Crichton
Join Peter & Eileen on another leg of their journey around the world, this time in South America.
21st February The journey after ABPE with Chris Forster
A story about entering National Exhibitions. There are plenty of pictures to keep everybody happy.
28th February Members’ Night
Members will have the opportunity to do a small presentation, print display or AV presentation.

21st March Mrs Wells thinks its rubbish with Kevin Adlard
A print talk using Black & white and colour images from around the world. Kevin’s talk will show a creative approach to travel and portraiture.
