Members Night – Thursday 29th November 2018

Members Night – Thursday 29th November 2018

Members are invited to contribute their work or presentations for this night. It is hoped that some members will have created AV presentations following Tony’s  session in early November  but many other subjects are positively welcomed. Please let Paul or Simon know on what subjects you would like to present by Tuesday 27th November.

We have three members kindly come forward with presentations, but we are still looking for more members to make their contributions to the night. These are held so that members can present their work to all of us, or ask questions or discuss burning items for them. If any of you have something you would particularly like input on, then please ask the question to the Paul or Simon in the same way, and we will try to find someone who will talk on this for everyone.  Please contribute.

Photography – Art for the Untalented. – Thursday 8th November

Colin Lusby will present with A3 Colour and monochrome prints covering a variety of subjects, the vast majority of which are new or have been produced within the last 12 months. This is very much a ‘light hearted’ talk, questions, comments and feedback are welcomed.

Colin who hails from Grimsby has previously entertained us with tales of Haddock as well as judging for us. Its always proved an entertaining night.

Exhibition at Swarkestone Nursery 20/21st October

The society is holding an exhibition at Swarkestone Nursery on the 20th and 21st October. This will be held in the Garden Centre over the weekend. We really need volunteers to help setup/take down the stands and man the stands on either of the days.

We are planning to setup at 8 O’clock  on the Saturday and need people manning the stand 9 to 5-30 on Saturday and 10 – 4:30 on Sunday. Additionally we need help taking the exhibition down on Sunday and transporting back to the storage at Thomas Cook Hall

We also need prints to exhibit, so if you can bring any on Thursday the 18th. So if you can help in any way please  let Tony Pedley know please.
