Chris will be looking at how project work, repeated visits and experimenting with creative abstract techniques can help to make the most of even an uninspiring location.
About Chris Dale
I’m Chris Dale, a photographer based in Nottingham, England.
My photography comes from the enjoyment of being out in the woodland and countryside, unwinding from life’s stresses and being surrounded by nature.
A lot of my work is focussed on the local area, which isn’t known for big vistas. This has led me to look at the landscape differently, trying to capture the essence of the place at that time, rather than a straight representation. While most of my photos have no obvious landmark I aim to portray the different elements that make up a location, from the wider views to small details and abstract interpretations.
More recently I have been focussing almost entirely on abstract and project work.
My images have been published, exhibited and awarded in major competitions.
Ian will be detailing his approach to Long Exposure Photography, including some processing techniques. This is not my only way of genre, and he will also be including and outlining his approach to other work. Ian is a member of Derby City PC.
|I have achieved National and International recognition with two commendations and published twice in the ‘Landscape Photographer Of The Year’ books. I have also had three commendations and published twice in the ‘Scottish Landscape Photographer Of The Year’ books. I have also been published in the first ‘Outdoor Photographer Of The Year’ book, and been published frequently in their magazine. Internationally I have gained Honourable mentions in the IPA awards and also The Black & White Spider awards.

Colin Lusby will present with A3 Colour and monochrome prints covering a variety of subjects, the vast majority of which are new or have been produced within the last 12 months. This is very much a ‘light hearted’ talk, questions, comments and feedback are welcomed.
Colin who hails from Grimsby has previously entertained us with tales of Haddock as well as judging for us. Its always proved an entertaining night.
Our speaker on Thursday 18th October, is Ashley Franklin who will be talking on his tours of Tuscany. This will be a return visit for Ashley, who’s talks have always been welcomed by the membership.
