JANUARY SALE!

On a recent journey to the back of the cupboard I found a number of photographic items I no longer require. If you’re interested let me (Steven) know, either at the club or by sending me a message (click here).

Canon EOS-5 35MM camera body

Fancy going old skool? Hanker for the quality you can only achieve from shooting film? Then pop some Velvia 100 in this Canon 5 and take a trip back to the 1990s. It’s in great condition and includes a working battery. With a Canon EF lens mount you’ll be able to use your current lenses too. It’s only flaw is it’s not a Nikon. Price – £20

Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM – Canon fit

Super sharp, super fast and super forgot about at the back of the cupboard. Not been used for maybe 5 years. I used it for shooting panoramic shots as it captures lots of detail, ideal for low-light conditions too. Great condition. Price £140

[SOLD] Iiyama Prolite 82403WS 24” HD monitor

Features: resolution 1920 x 1200, aspect ratio 16:10, VGA and HDMI connections and 2 x 2w speakers. Recent news to me, it also rotates 90 degrees! not sure why, perhaps so you can still watch it while lying on the sofa. Price £20

[SOLD] Manfrotto 190XPROB Tripod (no head)

Like its owner it’s starting to show signs of wear, but still works fine. Has a horizontal centre column feature, good for table top photography. There’s an overview video on YouTube, click to view. Price £30

Sto-Fen Omni Bounce

Flash diffuser for Canon Speedlight 430EX and 430EXii. Price £5

[SOLD] Wacom Graphics Tablet PTZ 630

A5 tablet with stylus that connects via USB. It’s easier to retouch photos using a tablet than with a mouse. Drivers should be available to download from Wacom website. The button on the stylus is broken, hence the Sellotape, but that button isn’t critical to its usability (it’s never worked since I’ve owned it). Price £5

[SOLD] Wacom Graphics Tablet Bamboo MTE-450A

A6 tablet with stylus, as above minus the Sellotape and broken button. Review on YouTube – click here. Price £10

[SOLD] LaCie external hard drive – 320GB, Firewire 800/400 and USB 2 connections.

Includes power supply. I won’t drive a hard bargain on this hard drive.  Price £5

All prices include free delivery to the Thomas Cook Hall.

Members Night, 4th January 18

We return for the seasonal break, to the first members night of the season. As normal this is open to the membership to make a short presentation on a subject of their choice.  This could be anything from your own audio-visual presentation, to a presentation on your favourite subject, to a talk on your favourite area of photography.    You might have something you want to understand more about, or skills you want to learn. We can always see if we can find someone to cover that area, given enough notice.

Your offers and suggestions would be appreciated to make this evening a success. Please contact Paul Cooper if you want to participate.

Swarkstone Exhibition 21st – 22nd October

We are coming up to the final exhibition of the year.  This is the first time we have exhibited at Swarkestone Garden Centre and we are hoping  that this will be a great success..

To ensure things run smoothly I am asking the membership for some help.  If you can give an hour of your time on either the Saturday or Sunday that would be wonderful, plus we need some help with setting up on Friday afternoon and taking down on Sunday afternoon. We won’t need to have more than one or two people at any one time as there isn’t a Tombola to run.  We have some members selling merchandise who will be there for most of the weekend.

Please can you let me know if you are available to help. My email is
