An Update from Gavin on Fundraising and Events

There are a few exciting items to bring to your attention!

1). We are running a one day workshop on Saturday 7th June at the Thomas Cook Memorial Hall entitled ‘ Improving your holiday pictures’. This will aim to improve the compositional elements of taking photographs through classroom and practical application over the day. Light refreshments, lunch and course notes are included in the course fee of £30. To reserve your place please contact: events@melbournephotographicsociety.org.uk.

We would gladly welcome support from members to place promotional posters at their workplace or in the community.

2). We have been invited to exhibit our prints at The Chellaston carnival on Saturday 21st June. The event will take place on the green opposite Chellaston Academy on Derby Road. We can have as much ground space as we want, the only proviso is we must supply our own gazebos for protection in the event of inclement weather.

We are asking for volunteers to submit their prints to be exhibited and six members to set up, man and dismantle the exhibition. Setting up time is 8.00am to 11.00am and the show runs from 12.00 to 5pm.

Please contact Gavin Lake if you are able to display course posters, wish to book on the annual dinner, wish to submit prints for the Chellaston carnival or wish to help with the exhibition. E-mail gavin.lake@btinternet.com

Many thanks for your continuing support, I Iook forward to hearing from you.
